Rooftop apartment with terrace, once home of an art history teacher and painter, in a 15°century palace, with paintings and thousands of books for an original flair. Two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, dining room, beautiful and rare rooftop terrace! Centrally located and very quiet, in an full of bars and restaurants area. Rooftop apartment with 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, altana (= terrace above the roof), in a 15th century palace in the historical central Cannaregio district. For many years the apartment has been the residence of Mariangela art history teacher. A passionate teacher still remembered by her students, also painter and spent many hours reading and painting. Mariangela was a great traveler and took back statues and books. Even today you can see some paintings and thousands of books of history, politics and art. It is an artist's apartment and this feeling of opening and vitality remains for the visitor's pleasure. The apartment is fully equipped, independent entry by phone call. My interaction with guests is through messages and phone The apartment is located in the venetians and students night out area. Full of restaurants and bars, the neighborhood is intensely full of life in the evening, while the apartment is on the rooftop and enjoys absolutely quiet. During the day it is located 50m away from the main touristic street, so close to every kind of service (banks, supermarkets, pharmacy, public boat transport service). ->From MARCO POLO AIRPORT, located in Tessera at approximately 8 km from the B&B. We are in Venice (cap 30121), Cannaregio Neighbourhood, Fondamenta Misericordia 2625 With the BOAT: From Venice Airport "Marco Polo"venice-with-boat you can catch the "Alilaguna" service orange line, throught the north lagoon of Venice: the ticket costs Euro 15, departure is every 30 minutes and the waterbus stop is at 5 minutes walking from the airport following the side-walk. The route takes 26 minutes and you have to get off at the 2nd stop M.dell'Orto on the left or wait the 3' stop "Guglie" on the left. From there you have 5 or 7 minutes by walk. With the BUS: From Venice Airport "Marco Polo" you can catch the public bus #5 at the airport, departure is every 15 minutes and it takes 23 minutes to reach Piazzale Roma, the car terminal station (last stop) where you get off. From there the best way is to go by feet. If you prefer to go with the public transport, from the car and bus station of Piazzale Roma, you can catch water bus line # 1 Lido (takes 9 minutes makes 3 stops) and get off at S. Marcuola-Casino' stop on the left side. You can buy the tickets at the ACTVcounter and it costs around 7€, even for chlidren. From S. Marcuola only 4 minutes walking to reach our B&B.With the Taxi: From Venice Airport "Marco Polo" you can also catch a water taxi to S. Elena, the cost is around Euro 110 ************************************************************************************** -> From SANTA LUCIA railway STATION in Venice (Venezia S.L.): the best way to arrive is by feet in 13 minutes. Out of the train station to the left and go straight on the road Strada Nova, until you arrive at the square Calle del Pistore. Cross the Calatrava glass bridge and go straight on the road Strada Nova, until you arrive at the square Calle del Pistore. In front of the Teatro Italia take Calle del'Aseo then right. From Treviso Airport "Canova"there is a shuttle bus service "ATVO" to Venice Piazzale Roma, the bus terminal and it takes 1hr10 minutes. This shuttle is scheduled to service all main arriving flights. ************************************************************************************** -> Where to PARK the car If you didn't noticed it, in Venice you can not drive your car! But: there are several car parks, where you can park and enjoy your holiday by feet! at the bus terminal of Venice, Piazzale Roma, and they are some parking garages, which are pretty expensive and cost between 25 and 40€ each day. there are cheaper parkings directly befor the Ponte della Libertà bridge in Mestre at via dei petroli. they cost 5,00€ or 4,50 € each day. From there you can go back 100m on the main street and catch the bus (they are all ok and go every 5 minutes until midnight, then every 30 minutes). Ticket costs 1,5€ or 3,0€ if you do it on the bus by the bus driver. NB: 3rd floor without elevator, 4th stair inside the apt., not suitable for babies, can become challenging with many heavy suitcases. Rooftop apt, low doors, sloping low ceiling in one bedroom and the bathroom. Not comfortable for tall (m1,80+ ft5.9+) people
